LDSGroups is a list I began almost 5 years ago to facilitate discussion of the many churches arising from the latter day saint experience. It is co-moderated by myself, Divergent Paths of the Restoration author Steven L. Shields, and John Dawson. Below is the official group description:
"The purpose of this list is to discuss the various groups which have sprung from the Church of Christ founded by Joseph Smith, Jr. in 1830. Of particular interest to our list are the latter day saint churches beyond the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah).
"This list is open to all who are interested in objective, scholarly discussion about these groups. However, any attempts to use this list to evangelize or proselytize will not be tolerated.
"This list is a moderated forum, so members can be assured that their mailboxes will not fill up with unnecessary messages.
